2016 saw Sophia become the first female shoe designer to receive the prestigious ‘Vogue Fashion Fund’. In the summer of 2019, Sophia was awarded an honorary doctorate in design from De Montfort University, marking her contribution to footwear design.
With a background in fine art, creativity is at the heart of Sophia’s designs. The brand’s instantly recognisable aesthetic today consists of an extensive footwear offering as well as seasonal Bridal, Handbag and Mini lines. Sophia has collaborated with a diverse array of brands including Puma, Barbie, Coca Cola, J Crew, Alex Monroe and Sophia’s very own shoe hero, Mr Patrick Cox.
For SS20, Sophia introduced two new collections to the range with a focus on positive impact and audience diversity. Sophia debuted her first ‘Upcycled’ collection in January 2020, reinventing and reusing past seasons’ surplus materials to create new shoes. The following month, she launched ‘Extended Sizes’, producing a selection of her key styles up to a size EU46 (US15.5/UK13).
She is the first luxury footwear brand to introduce this widely inclusive size range. 2021 saw her launch her first capsule supporting the work of the charity Butterfly Conservation.
